Hairology

Throughout my life I have always been fascinated by hair. I love the way a person can walk into a hair salon and completely transform into a different person when they come out.

My passion for hair truly developed when I got a job at JC Penny’s hair salon as a front desk associate.  Not only did I have duties to greet customers and schedule appointments, it was my job to be well versed in the products we sold in the retail portion of the salon. I found selling hair products to our customers was thrilling. I made it my job to find that perfect product for the customer. It always would excite me when the customer would come back and tell me how much they loved the product and how my service made their buy worth while.

As years went on my life’s journey brought me to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I am an Advertising major and sales minor and I find my self doing projects centered over the sales of hair products. Since my previous employment at JC Penny salon and Trade Secret I have gained a lot of knowledge on hair products and the hair industry and I often apply this to my school work. Right now in my advanced sales course I am conducting a thesis of how to sell Chi’s Enviro straitening systems to salons across the area.

My passion for hair has not stopped since my employment at JC Penny’s Salon. I find myself still coming back to the hair industry as time moves on. When I graduate from WKU I still would like to work in the hair industry. I would like to be able to work with a company to help brand their products and sell them on the market. Stay tuned to see where hair will take me later in life.
